Funeral services for Mildred Lydia Gregor Helm, widow of Charlie Helm, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mrs. Helm passed away July 30, 2013, in Houston, at the age of 93. Mildred Helm was born March 12, 1920 in Brenham to August A. and Frieda Feisler Gregor. She was baptized May 9, 1920 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church of Berlin by Pastor Emshoff, and attended area schools. On March 3, 1946, she was married to Charlie Edward Helm in the same church by Pastor A. J. Mohr. Mildred assisted her husband in the family dairy business, and later worked as a dietician in nursing homes. Survivors include daughters Helen L. Blum of Kingwood, Charlotte Sue Glaeser and husband Gene of Bleiblerville, and Marilyn Michelle Pawlak and husband Florian of Buckhorn; grandchildren: Cheryl Blum Stampley, David Charles Blum, Ronald Charles Blum, Gene Ray Glaeser, Jr., Craig Glaeser and wife Krystal, Tiffany Pawlak Campbell and husband Carson III, and Jonathan Pawlak; great-grandchildren: Christopher Stampley, Bradley Stampley, Marcus Hill, Kristi Nicole Blum, Taylor Clemens, Madison Blum, Destiny Campbell, Heather Violet, Caitlan Nightingale and husband John II, Austin McKinney; great-great grandchildren: Aiden Islas, Ashton Islas, and Ryder Nightingale; brothers Almuth Buddy Gregor of Robstown, Luther and Ora Lee Gregor, and sister-in-law Sugar Mae Gregor of New Ulm; sister and brother-in-law Edith and James Lehmann of Brenham, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, August and Frieda Gregor; husband, Charlie E. Helm, Jr., brother, Pastor Milroy Gregor; sister Olivia Gregor Goerlitz and husband, Frank, and several nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, David Charles Blum, Ronald Charles Blum, Gene Glaeser, Jr., Craig Glaeser, Jonathan Pawlak, and Carson "Colt" Campbell III. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters Cheryl Stampley, Tiffany Campbell, and Krystal Glaeser, as well as members of Zion Lutheran Church Choir, the Bluebonnet Club, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary members. The family wishes to extend special thanks to her caretakers at Villa Toscano Nursing Home and Odyssey Hospice in Houston.
