Milton "Butch" Eckermann, Jr., 58, of Brenham, husband of Doris Eckermann, passed away December 2, 2008 at his residence on the evening of their 36th wedding anniversary. Butch was born May 14, 1950 in Brenham to Milton, Sr. and Helen Thiel Eckermann. He was baptized July 23, 1950 in Industry Methodist Church in Industry, and confirmed February 9, 1964 in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. On December 2, 1972 he married Doris Dannhaus in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. He was retired from the City of Brenham. Butch enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Doris Eckermann; daughter Dana Lynn and husband Kelley Hughes of Katy; grandchildren: Grant Christopher and Lillian Bess Hughes of Katy; parents, Helen and Milton Eckermann, Sr., a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Tommy Roehling of Brenham; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ben and Alice Dannhaus, Laura Fieseler, Waldo Dannhaus, Edward and Sylvia Dannhaus and Elroy Dannhaus, all of Brenham, and Alice and Ron Neel of Bellville. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Carla and Robert Terrian, Amanda Roehling, Joshua Roehling, Len Dannhaus, Scot Dannhaus, Roy and Vicki Dannhaus, Dale and Wendy Heisch, Linda and Ronnie Eilers, Roy and LaVonne Hegefeld, and special friend, Lori Spiess. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Wayne Eckermann; his mother-in-law and father-in-law Edward and Lillian Dannhaus; brothers-in-law Ernest Fieseler, Ralph Heisch, sister-in-law, Joan Dannhaus, and nephew, Carlitas Sagliardi. Funeral services for Milton "Butch" Eckermann, Jr. will be held Friday, December 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem with Pastor Lydia Paterson officiating, assisted by Pastor Charles Parnell. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation with family will take place Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Alfred "Buck" Eckermann, Jr., Larry Eckermann, Donald Koester, Otis Clark, Delphine Addicks, Terry Moore, Lawrence Eckermann, and Erwin Thiel. Honorary pallbearers are David Folchinsky, Joshua Roehling, Jack and Pat Brannen, and Esther and Raymond Klump.
