Milton Lorenz

Milton H. Slim Lorenz, 77, of Brenham, died October 15, 2010 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan Texas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, with Pastor Alan Kethan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with graveside service under the auspice of B.P.O.E. 979. The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2010. Milton was born on September 18, 1933 in the Mound Hill Community of Washington County to Ervin and Elsie Pankonien Lorenz. On November 12, 1933 he was baptized at St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill by Reverend A.W. Weber. Milton was confirmed at the same church by Reverend R.J. Weber. Milton and Ruth Lillian Beckerman were married on June 13, 1953 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine by Reverend Theo Sager. On June 26, 2004 he married Faye Worthington. Milton was a life-long member of St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. He worked for Brenham Wholesale Grocery as a truck driver and was co-owner of Lorenz Catering for over 30 years. After retiring from the wholesale, he owned a produce route. He was a member of Brenham Elks Lodge 979, and was president of Gay Hill Trail Riding Club, and a member of Gay Hill Sons of Hermann #193. He was a member of Gay Hill-Mound Hill- Cedar Hill Fire Dept. Survivors include his wife Faye Lorenz of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law Janet and Arthur Daniel of Brenham, Eunice and James Schulz of Brenham, Beatrice BB and Johnnie Kmiec of Chappell Hill, step-daughter Melissa Schulz and husband Marty of Hempstead, and step-daughter Becky Ballard of Brenham; step-son Michael Krolczyk of Brenham; grandchildren: Patrick and Brooke Koronka, Kate and Kevin Quinn, Zane and Misty Schulz, Justin and Emilie Kmiec, Travis and Cori Kmiec, Matthew Daniel, and step-grandchildren; Lauren Guerra, Madison Schulz, Lyndsey and Logan Ballard; great grandchildren Cameron and Colton Logan, Shelby Schulz, Jordan Meyer, Kavin and Kaden Quinn, Makenna Kmiec, the mother of his children, Ruth Lorenz Ganske of Brenham; sister Delores Knipstein of Houston, sisters and brothers-in-law Doris and Newton Williams of Houston and Walline and James Grimm of Round Rock as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Milton was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law James Koronka, great-grandson Lance Koronka-Quinn, brother-in-law Willie Knipstein Jr. and nephew Ronald Knipstein. Serving as pallbearers are Dan Borchgardt, Marty Schulz, David Roehling, Marvin Fischer, Curtis Rodenbeck, Bradley Fischer, Ricky Adler, and Mark Marburger. Honorary Pallbearers are Michael Krolczyk and the members of the Elks Lodge, BPOE 979 and the Gay Hill-Mound Hill-Cedar Hill Fire Dept.
