Nancy Coghlan

Nancy K. Coghlan, 76, of Brenham, wife of Richard Coghlan, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on December 15, 2011 in Kindred Hospital in Houston. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 in First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dale Chance officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday evening from 5 until 7 p. m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Nancy Coghlan was born Nov. 4, 1935 in Brenham to Robert and Caroline Meyer Kiesewetter. After graduating Brenham High School, she attended Blinn College. On March 28, 1970, she married Richard Coghlan in First United Methodist Church. She was employed as a retail clerk for Palais Royal. Survivors include her husband, Richard Coghlan of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Melissa Cook; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Roger Appelt, all of Brenham; grandchildren: Kelsey Cook of Brenham, Lynnly Lee of San Marcos, and Conner Appelt of Brenham; brother and sister-in-law, Erwin and Carolyn Kiesewetter of Hallettsville; sisters Cecelia May of Brazoria, Ruth Bates, and Dorothy Boenker and husband Rob, all of Brenham. Preceding her in death were her parents; a grandson, Trevor Cook, brother LeeRoy Kiesewetter and infant brother, Robert Kiesewetter. A member of First United Methodist Church, she was a former employee of Brentex Mills and Schoenemann''s Restaurant. She loved gardening and yard work, and was very proud of her beautiful flowers. Cross-stitching and sewing were also favorite pastimes, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. Shopping and making people smile brought her great joy. Her dog, Toby, who loved to eat out of her hand, was her special pet companion. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements for Nancy K.
