Nathalie Giese

Nathalie Louise Hodde Giese, 80, of Brenham, widow of J. F. Giese, passed away September 16, 2008 in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham.

Mrs. Giese was born in Burton, Texas on August 26, 1928 to Theodore and Elsie Lamp Hodde. She was baptized October 28, 1929 by Pastor Adolph Walton in Burton, and confirmed on September 21, 1941 in Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville by Pastor J. Fred Mgebroff.

Nathalie was salutatorian of the 1945-46 graduating class of Burton High School. On June 3, 1947, she married John F. Giese, with Pastor L. F. Modschiedeer performing the ceremony. For many years, Nathalie was employed at the Burton Drug Store, Miller's Pharmacy, and Citizen's Pharmacy.

Survivors include a son, Howard Malcomb Giese of Round Rock, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Marvin Viola Giese of Brenham, and nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Nathalie Hodde Giese will be held Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John''s United Church of Christ. Rev. Glen Schoeneberg and Pastor Greg Felder will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.

Serving as pallbearers will be relatives and friends of the family. Memorials may be directed to St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.Main, Brenham.
