Nathan Charles Zibilski went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 15, 2024 at the age of 80.
Nathan was born to Emil and Louise Hodde Zibilski on February 27, 1944. He was baptized and later confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. R.J. Weber. Nathan attended Harrisburg schools and graduated from Brenham High School in 1962. He graduated from Blinn and Sam Houston University with a Bachelors and Masters Degree. On December 18, 1965, Nathan married the love of his life, Carolyn Maass. Nathan and Carolyn spent many happy times with friends and family, especially enjoyed camping, dancing and going on cruises. Nathan’s favorite cruise was going to Alaska.
Nathan was employed by Spring Branch ISD for 36 years where he was known as Mr. Z. He was a teacher, counselor, and assistant principal at various high schools within Spring Branch ISD. His real joy was mentoring and helping students achieve their goals in life. Nathan also sponsored many band and drill team trips attending many of their competitions. Working with students was not just a job for Nathan, but rather it was a true joy.
Nathan is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carolyn Zibilski; son, Matt Zibilski and wife, Leigh; son, Chad Zibilski and wife, Robbie Zibilski; sister, Joyce Fuchs and husband Vernon; twin brother, Nelson Zibilski and wife, Susie. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, Laura Kate, Kennedy, Audrey, and Eli Zibilski. He also survived by numerous nieces and nephews which he was very proud of.
He is preceded by his parents, and his sister and brother-in-law: LaVerne and Franklin Fuchs.
Pallbearers include Kenneth Valtramp, Russel Valtramp, and Brandy Robinson. Honorary pallbearer is his lifelong friend Roger Kelm.
The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Glenn Hohlt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
