Nelda Lea Frenzel Schroeder, 63, of Brenham, widow of Elroy Schroeder, died March 20, 2010 in College Station Medical Center in College Station. Nelda was born in Round Top, Fayette County on September 26, 1946 to Alfred and Nola M. F. Klaus Frenzel. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and graduated from RT-C High School in Carmine. On April 27, 1963, she married Elroy Schroeder in White Hall, Texas. Nelda worked as a realtor, and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill. She served as president of the Washington County Cattlewomen''s Association and was extremely active in the Washington Co. Fair Association for the past 30 years. Nelda was active in her church, serving on the church council. She truly loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed attending their baseball and basketball games. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Pam Schroeder of Tomball, and Frank and Christie Schroeder of Brenham; grandchildren: Caroline and Sophie Schroeder, Ricky and Audrey Herndon, and great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Ocanas; brother Wilfred Frenzel of Round Top, and Leslie Frenzel and wife Mildred of LaGrange; sisters Nila Young of Brenham and Lorna Finke of Round Top; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edgar and Delores Schroeder of Brenham. Nelda was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy Schroeder, parents Alfred and Nola Frenzel, niece Marcy Schroeder, mother-in-law and father-in-law Bertha and Herman Schroeder, and brother and sister-in-law, Corvin and Ruth Frenzel. Funeral services for Nelda Lea Schroeder will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill, with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Tuesday, March 23 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Named as pallbearers are Ricky Herndon, Glenn Schroeder, Ross Schroeder, William Schroeder, Roger Finke, David Ray, Roger Ellermann, and Edgar Schroeder. Honorary pallbearers are the Washington County Cattlewomen''s Association, Wilfred and Gerdine Blome, Roger and Mary Ann Ellermann, and David and Trochelle Ray.
