Nina Ellermann

Nina Frances Rothermel Ellermann, 71, wife of Henry Al Ellermann, died July 9, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Ellermann was born January 29, 1938 in Burton to Carl N. and Erma Broesche Rothermel. She was baptized July 2, 1939 at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton by Pastor Eiben and confirmed in the same church on Palm Sunday, April 6, 1952 by Pastor Schwengel. She graduated from Burton High School and Blinn College, and attended Sam Houston State University. On June 20, 1959, she was married to Henry Al Ellermann at St. John''s United Church of Christ of Burton by Pastor Jewel Johnson, and enjoyed being a homemaker. Mrs. Ellermann also worked with her husband in the cattle business, and also assisted in his auction business. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church for many years, served on the WELCA, the church council and the Christian Service Committee. She sang in the church choir for many years. She is survived by her husband, Henry Al Ellermann; daughters and sons-in-law Frances Kay and Rudy Dana, and Rachel Ann and Mark Niebuhr, all of Brenham; grandchildren John Henry Dana, Emily Frances Dana, Justin Andrew Dana, and Mattie Elise Niebuhr; and a sister and brother-in-law Carolyn and Otto L. Fuchs, Jr. of Carmine. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Erma Rothermel, sister, Mattie Marie Rothermel, sister-in-law Gertrude Ellermann, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Henry and Martha Ellermann. Funeral services for Nina Frances Ellermann will be held Monday July 13, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Gary Rothermel, Ray Thaler, Charles Landua, Bruce Bockhorn, Mark Kuecker, John Henry Dana, Justin Andrew Dana, and Roger Ellermann. Honorary pallbearers are David Ray, Marvin Wellmann, Lowell Herzog, Jr., and W. E. Bill Whiddon. Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, or to Texas Home Health Hospice, 1605 Rock Prairie Road, Suite 206, College Station, Texas 77845.
