Nora Moore

Nora Thane Moore, 91, died November 15, 2014 in Forest Manor Nursing Home in Covington, Louisiana. Mrs. Moore was born Sept. 5, 1923 in the Wm. Penn Community of Washington County to Henry and Settie Dahmann Thane. She was baptized October 7, 1923, and confirmed in May of 1938. Nora graduated from the William Penn School, and was employed as a bookkeeper at Houston I.S.D, retiring in 1986. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Rachael Moore of Covington, LA; sister, Floris Thane Whittaker of Brenham; sister and brother-in-law Ethel Thane and Chester Majors, and Wayne Majors, all of Lake Jackson; grandchildren Vivian Moore and Adam Moore. Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Settie Thane; brothers Woodrow Thane, Henry Thane, Jr., and Marvin Thane, sisters, Lucille Majors and Lorena Queen. Funeral services for Nora Thane Moore are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Friday.
