Norma Kelm

Norma Stark Kelm, 86, of Brenham and the widow of Harry Kelm , died March 8, 2006 at Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village. She was born on August 20, 1919 to Adolph & Emilie Spitzer Stark in the Burton Community. She was baptized November 16, 1919 in Greenvine Lutheran Church by Pastor Hoefer and confirmed on March 29, 1934 in Zion Lutheran Church by Pastor Karl Mueller. She attended Hohenwalde School. She was married to Harry Kelm on August 25, 1940 in Zion Lutheran Church by Pastor Fred Mgebroff. They lived in the Zionsville community all of their married life, and to their union, two children were born, Faye and Roger. Norma was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church. She and Harry always worked in the church, Norma teaching Sunday school for 15 years and vacation Bible school when her children were in Bible school. She was a member of the Women of the Church all of her married life and held various offices in the organization. She was also a member of the Bluebonnet Club for 14 years and held office and worked preparing food for the organization. She is survived by her children Faye Rau and husband Charles of La Grange and Roger Kelm and wife Gail of Houston; four grandchildren, Rocky and Miranda Rau, Robbie and Tabatha Rau, Jason and Denise Kelm and Courtney and Hector Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Carson and Madison Rau, Nicolas, Harrison and Ella Rose Kelm and Emily Ramirez; sisters-in-law, Selma Schuerman and Adeline Kelm; dear friends, Curtis, Kathy and Landon Buck and Marissa and Cliff Rudloff; a dear cousin, Lillie Hohlt; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kelm, on Nov. 2, 1984; her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Willie Maass; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Dora Stark; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 9 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 10 in Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor David Hall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Rocky Rau, Robbie Rau and Jason Kelm; friends, Landon Buck and Cliff Rudloff; and nephew, Nathan Zibilski. Honorary pallbearer will be Hector Ramirez. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
