Norman Hines, Sr.

Dr. Norman Dee Hines, Sr., 95, of New Ulm, died July 17, 2005, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Dr. Hines was born January 3, 1910, in Wayne County, North Carolina, to Daniel Lee and Nancy Hines Hines. On August 19, 1937, he was married to Avalon Hines in La Grange, Kentucky. Survivors include his wife, Avalon Hines of New Ulm; daughters, Linda Defoy of Houston, DeAnn Rogers of Chicago, Illinois, Marcia Sidwa of Austin and Susan Savoy of Germany; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Norman D. Hines, Jr. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, in St. Peter s Episcopal Church in Brenham with Rev. Cecilia Smith officiating. Memorials may be given to St. Peter s Episcopal Church in Brenham or the charity of your choice.
