Oliver Mckinney

Oliver Franklin McKinney died in Houston on January 11, 2018, at the age of 91. He was born April 8, 1926 near DeSmet, SD to Oliver James and Margaret Petersen McKinney.

He attended South Dakota schools and Augustana College, graduating in 1943 with a degree in chemistry. He was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company in Borger, Texas and also in Bartlesville, OK for 37 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Meridian Radio Relay League for 50 years, enjoying ham radio.

He was married to Betty Stockton at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bartlesville, OK on July 21, 1951. They made their home in Borger, moving back to Bartlesville in 1957. In 1998 they relocated to Brenham, TX where they were members of Grace Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving besides his wife are daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Linn Osborn of Houston, daughter Mary McKinney of Ft. Worth, and grandsons Jason Osborn and Oliver Osborn of Houston.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bartlesville, OK. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville.
