Ora NellNell Parker Nell was born at home in the Salem Community on March 16, 1934 to Willie and Lillian Mueller Wehmeyer. She was baptized at home on March 25, 1934 by Pastor Wm. Utesch and was confirmed in Salem Lutheran Church on May 16, 1948. Nell graduated from Brenham High School in May, 1952 and later attended Massey''s Business College in Houston. Nell and Ervin Parker were married on June 7, 1958 in Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Houston by Pastor Wm. Gruetum. Following graduation, Nell worked for Blue Bell Creamery until the family moved to Houston. In Houston, she worked for Star Chevrolet when the dealership was housed on Hempstead Highway. It later moved to Katy Freeway as Courtesy Chevrolet. She served in a variety of positions including Office Manager before being promoted to Secretary/Treasurer. Following the family''s move to Brenham in 1973, Nell went to work for Brenham State School. She retired in March, 1994. We will all greatly miss our Granny, who touched our lives in so many different ways and memories she leaves with us. Her tremendous love and joy was for her grandchildren and great grand children, spending time sewing, doing word search puzzles and watching the game shows. She was a woman of very few words. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin L Parker; parents Willie and Lillian Wehmeyer; Brother and Sister-In-Law, Willie Jr. and Marion Wehmeyer; Sister-In-Law, Francis Wehmeyer; Sister and Brother-In-Law, Mary Jo and Harold Lorenz; and Brother-In-Law, Richard Stephens. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ervin Jr. and Dona Lynn Parker; step-son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Patti Parker; grand children Megan Parker, Morgan Parker, Michael Parker; step-grand son, Sean Dryden and step-grand daughter, Elizabeth and Travis Robertson; step-great grandchildren Logan and Kayleigh Robertson. Her sister and Brother-in-law, Dorothy and Lonnie Addicks; Brother, Clarence Kinch Wehmeyer; Brother and sister-in-law Lenert Earl Shorty and Beckey Wehmeyer; Sister, Judy Stephens; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Parnell and Pastor Toby Burk officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church, American Lung Association or a charity of your choice.
