Oralene Giebel

Oralene Grace (Kieke) Giebel, 95, of Brenham passed away on February 28, 2023.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham, TX. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m.  on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Salem Lutheran Church with Dr. Craig Dohse officiating and burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery both in Brenham, TX.

Oralene was born on October 30, 1927 to Walter Kieke and Leonie Wagner Kieke in Burton, TX. She was baptized and later confirmed at Martin Lutheran Church of Carmine, TX By Rev. A.H, Brunotte, and on June 18, 1949 she was married to Dr. Leroy H. Giebel by Rev. A. T. Kluge also at Martin Lutheran Church. She attended the Boundary School of LaBahia and Burton High School where she was named Salutatorian of her class. She then attended Southwestern Business University of Houston. She worked as the manager of Morgan Auto Supply in Houston, TX from 1947 to 1949 and at Central Freight in Brenham, Tx from 1950 to 1958. After 1958, she dedicated her life to her family and became an active rancher, which she continued until her passing.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in law, Dr. Dan Giebel and Dr. Elizabeth Ebert of Salado, TX; grandchildren, Brian Royce Giebel and Kristen Renee Giebel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Leroy H. Giebel; parents, Walter and Leonie Kieke; son, Walter George Giebel; mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Pauline Giebel.

Pallbearers will be Arno Jahnke, Ryan Bender, Darrel Kieke, Daniel Kieke, Dr. Lee Panko and Ronnie Bothe.
