Funeral services for Oscar Hinze, of Brenham, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, with Pastor Mark Moldenhauer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Hinze passed away April 6, 2015 at Brenham Nursing and Rehab in Brenham, at the age of 89. Oscar Hinze was born Nov. 22, 1925 in the Wm. Penn Community of Washington County to Ernst and Henriette Loesch Hinze. He was baptized Dec. 20, 1925 by Rev. L. A. Trinklein, and confirmed by Rev. C. J. Appel on April 6, 1941. On June 13, 1954, he was married to Lois Evelyn Simank by Rev. Theodore R. Griesse. He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wm. Penn, and served his country in the U. S. Army in Occupied Japan. He was a long-time employee and owner of H & H Agri-Services. Survivors include sons Lester Hinze and Keith Hinze, and daughter-in-law Donna Hinze, all of Brenham; grandson Tyler Hinze and wife Lyndsay of Brenham; great-grandchildren Michael and Taylor Hinze, both of Brenham; sisters Adele Schroeder of Brenham, and Doris Becker of Navasota, sister-in-law Walline Hinze of Brenham, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Oscar and May Simank of Alamogordo, NM. Mr. Hinze was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hinze; parents Ernst and Henriette Hinze; son, Gary Hinze; brothers Edwin, Ervin, and Ernst Hinze, and sisters Alma Gaskamp and Laura Holtkamp.
