Otto Charles "O.C." Landua, age 94, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013, in the Brenham Rest Home. O.C. was born March 23, 1919, to Otto Landua and Mamie Larsen Landua in the Charlesville community, Burton, Texas. He had lived his entire life on the family farm except for the past seven months that he spent in the Brenham Rest Home. He was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. He was baptized June 8, 1919, by Rev. Herman Weber and confirmed October 10, 1932, by Rev. C.A. Lehne. He received his education in the Charlesville school. O.C. was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Evelyn Landua Koehler; brother-in-law, Otto Koehler; and nephews, Dr. David Koehler, Patrick Koehler and John Koehler. He is survived by one nephew, Charles Koehler; two great-nieces, Dr. Jennifer Phy and spouse Dr. Michael Phy, Casey Koehler and Terry Koehler, David''s wife. He is also survived by a great-great-nephew, Tyler Phy; great-great-niece, Sarah Phy; and by numerous cousins. He was able to remain in his home because of his extended family and caretakers, Herbert and Joyce Landua Rust. O.C. farmed and also did custom farm work. He was caretaker of the church grounds and cemetery for many years and took pride in his work. He was a hard worker, loved the Lord, and in his younger years enjoyed hunting and the outdoors in general. A very private person, he was very independent, lived a very simple life, and never complained. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 6 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg with Pastor Denise Seymour. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. Pallbearers are Brent Rust, Bradley Jasinski, Leslie Kelm, Ricky Fischer, Mack Farr and Robert Nienstedt. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham.
