Otto Oevermann

Otto Henry Oevermann, 79, of Burton, died August 25, 2006 in Bluebonnet Hills Care Center. Otto was born September 17, 1926 in Burton to August H. & Elsie Jaster Oevermann. He was baptized at St. John s Evangelical and Reformed Church. Otto was a graduate of Burton High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer and rancher. Otto was a member of St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton. He enjoyed visits from his nieces and nephews in the country. Survivors include his brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold Oevermann of Burton, Edwin Oevermann of Houston, Lewis & Voncille Oevermann of Tennessee, August G. & Valerie Oevermann of Brenham, Charlie & Marilyn Oevermann of Burton; sisters: Natalie Ginn of Burton, Rose Lee Kenjura of Brenham, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents: August H. & Elsie Jaster Oevermann, his brother, George Oevermann, two brothers-in-law, Gerry Ginn and Bernard Kenjura, and a sister-in-law, Gladys Oevermann. Pallbearers include Michael Oevermann, Mark Riley, Greg Ginn, Joe Jasinski, Roy Allen Rueter, Ben Lubojasky and Ed Thraen. Honorary pallbearers include his nieces, nephews and friends of the family. The family will receive friends and visitors Sunday, August 27 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 28 at Foehner Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in St. John s United Church of Christ Cemetery. At the family s request, memorials may be given to Brenham Hospice of to St. John s United Church or Christ in Burton. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home, 13560 W. Washington, Burton.
