Otto Schulte

Otto John Fred Schulte, 89, of Brenham, widower of Helen Louise Look Schulte, died November 9, 2007 in Triumph First Colony Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas. Mr. Schulte was born Feb. 7, 1918 in Brenham, Texas to Otto and Josephine Dietz Schulte. He was a graduate of Brenham High School and Texas A&M University, Class of 1939. Mr. Schulte served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant, earning the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and POW Medal. He was a member of the North American Hunting Club and the Thousand Trails Recreational Parks. Mr. Schulte enjoyed hunting, fishing, and photography. Survivors include two daughters: Cindy Kubicek and husband Kenneth of East Bernarad, and Connie Hill of Houston; grandchildren Justin Kubicek and wife Kelly; Kaylan Kubicek and fiancé John Kopycinski; great-grandchildren: Carson and Carly Kubicek, and a sister, Verna Lois Deere of Bellville. Funeral services for Otto John Fred Schulte will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2007 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Lawrence Bade officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will take place Sunday, Nov. 11 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Justin Kubicek, Kenneth Kubicek, John Kopycinski, James Klopsteck, Gary Look and John Mortensen. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Gooch, Andrew Bair, Jim Davis, Craig Deere, and Boyer Gertson. Memorials may be made the the American Red Cross, c/o Denise Biship, 2700 Southwest Freeway, Houston, Tx. 77098. Funeral arrangemens are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
