Patricia Schroeder

Patricia Ann Ehlert Schroeder, widow of Dennis Schroeder, passed away April 5, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Pastor David Hansen officiating. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pat Schroeder was born December 18, 1950 in Brenham to Albert Jr. and Esther Hahn Ehlert. She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, and later confirmed there by Pastor A. J. Mohr. On Dec. 23, 1972, she was married to Dennis Wayne Schroeder, also at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Pat and her family continued membership at St. John Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Rachel Circle. Pat was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Brenham, and an active member of the Prairie Hill/Rocky Hill VFD Ladies Auxiliary. A graduate of Brenham High School, Blinn College, and Sam Houston State University, she went on to obtain a Master''s Degree from Texas A&M University in 1978. She taught school in the Cy-Fair and Brenham Independent School Districts for 35 years. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Leigh Anne and Jerome Cavner of Brenham; granddaughter, Samantha "Star" Cavner of Brenham; sister and brother-in-law Esther "Sue" and Dr. Robert Wernecke of Austin; mother-in-law Adela Schroeder, and numerous friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, her parents, a brother, Albert "Sonny" Ehlert III, and father-in-law Harven Schroeder. Serving as pallbearers are Wayne Ehlert, Chad Gerke, Brett Schroeder, Scott Schroeder, Jon Schroeder, and Scott Wernecke. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.
