Patricia Sommerfeld

Patricia Ann Tricia Sommerfeld, 52, of Brenham, died Dec. 3, 2005, at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Sommerfeld was born Aug. 9, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas, to O.E. Byrd and Lois Johnson Byrd. On June 2, 1993, she was married to Charles Otto Sommerfeld in Brenham. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Salem and the Downtown Alliance Association. She was a member of the Salt Grass Trail Ride and enjoyed the distinction of being its first female Scout. She also served as leader of Boy Scout Pack 74. Survivors include her husband, Charles Otto Sommerfeld of Brenham; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Snuffy and Michele Stokes of La Grange, Ronnie and Stacy Stokes of Lubbock and Rocky and Kim Jones of Brenham; three grandchildren, Riley Grace Stokes, Lilly Roxanne Jones and Travis Ryan Stokes; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Sonny Byrd of Dallas, Mike and Debbie Byrd of Burton and Scottie Williamson of Dallas; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Cal Curtner of Lubbock, Lynn and Eddie Joe Pearson of Happy; and Norma Lee and Eddie Nash of Lubbock; and sister-in-law, Kathy Gummelt and husband Daryl of Brenham; brother-in-law, Roger Sommerfeld and wife Carolann Sommerfeld of Carmine; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Goeke and husband Gilbert of Brenham; great-nephews, Michael Dool and Morgan Dool of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.E. Byrd and Kenneth and Lois Caldwell; brother, Gary Don Byrd; grandson, Ryan James Stokes; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mildred and Emmanuel Sommerfeld. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7 in Salem Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be Rodney Snuffy Stokes, Ronnie Stokes, Rocky Jones, Troy Zbranek, Michael Dool and Morgan Dool. Honorary pallbearers will be Red Dot Trail Riders, Stuart Markwardt, Troy Steele, Melvin Williams, Lewis Marshall, Brian Jaeger, Travis Millard and her nephews.
