Paul Reuben Handley, Jr., 63, of Washington, died July 23, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Handley was born June 12, 1950, in Dumas, Arkansas, to Paul Reuben Sr. and Namonia Jean James Handley. After graduating from Grady High School, he attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. On April 15, 1996, he was married to Jane McKelvey. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas, where he volunteered with the school that his daughter attends. For 30 years, he was a federal agent with Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and U.S. Border Patrol. He was a police officer and a sports editor for a newspaper in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In 2003, Mr. Handley retired to be a stay-at-home dad and raise his daughter Bethany. Survivors include his wife, Jane Ann McKelvy of Washington; son, Jereme Paul Handley and wife Sarah of Conroe, Texas; daughters, Bethany Ann Handley of Washington and Jennifer Michelle Arledge and husband Glen of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; grandchildren, Katherine Handley and Natasha Handley of Conroe, Texas; and brother, Jeffrey James Handley. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Walter. A graveside service is pending in England, Arkansas. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
