Paul Dean Kirkland, 73, of Chappell Hill, TX, died on October 5, 2020.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Mr. Kirkland was born on April 27, 1947 in Linden, TX to C.E. and Thedola Welch Kirkland. He graduated college with an Associate’s Degree. He worked as a truck driver in the trucking industry. He married his wife, Deborah Ann Smith, on July 29, 1977.
Mr. Kirkland enjoyed watching the Houston Texans play. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, while receiving a bronze star in combat action, ribbons, and a National Service Medal.
Mr. Kirkland is survived by his daughter, Heather Pond of Chappell Hill, TX; step-daughter and son-in-law, Victoria Gurka and husband Jerry of Chappell Hill, TX; step-daughter, Sylvia Goode of Pt. Charlotte, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Tullos and husband Frank of Conroe, TX; sister, Shirley Smith of Seagoville, TX; grandchildren, Christine Bennette, Shanon Pond, Nick Pond, and Jeremy Gurka; numerous nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Debbi Kirkland; mother and father, Thedola and C.E. Kirkland; sister, Judy Kirkland; brothers, Don Kirkland, Charles Kirkland, Wendell Kirkland, and Roma Kirkland.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
