Pearlie Weiss

Pearlie Helma Drews Weiss, 88, wife of Gilbert Weiss, passed away January 24, 2008 in Kruse Village in Brenham. Mrs. Weiss was born March 10, 1919 in the Latium Community of Washington County. She was baptized in Greenvine Lutheran Church of Greenvine, and later confirmed there. On January 26, 1941, she was married to Gilbert Weiss by Rev. Hartmann. She was a homemaker, as well as the secretary in the family business, Weiss Brothers and Co. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ of Burton, and of Circle II. Survivors include her husband Gilbert Weiss of Brenham; sons Garry Weiss and wife Ann and Randy Weiss and wife Connie, all of Katy; grandchildren: Greg Weiss and wife Tana, Genny Hull and husband Rick, Eric Weiss, Jeremy Pitman, Dwayne Pitman; great-grandchildren: Grayson Weiss, Griffin Weiss, Riley Hull, and Sutton Hull; her beloved caregiver, Erma Pruett. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Ellen Rose Rinn. Funeral services for Pearlie Helma Drews Weiss will be held Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John United Church of Christ in Burton with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will take place Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Memorials may be given to St. John United Church of Christ in Burton. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
