Peggy Joyce Taylor Huggins, 73, left to be with her heavenly father on December 11, 2012, in Scott & White Hospital, Brenham, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 at Cornerstone Christian Center with Pastor John Paul Cruz officiating. Burial will follow in Bear Creek Cemetery, Bertram, Texas. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Peggy was born February 15, 1939 in Bastrop, Texas to Loy and Josephine Taylor. A 1953 graduate of Lockhart High School, she married Kent Huggins on September 29, 1961. She was a resident of Brenham, Texas since 1990. A member of Cornerstone Christian Center, Peggy was a Christian as long as she could remember. Even though she was confined to bed for years, she never complained but steadfastly trusted in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Peggy lost her 15-year battle with Parkinson''s disease. The real joys of her life in her last years were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed life to the end, watching quiz shows, nature shows and history shows on TV with her husband. Survivors include her husband, Kent Huggins; daughter Alesia Salsbury of Houston and daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Jerry Gaetano of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grand-children Seth, Micah and Jessica Salsbury, Abigail, Hannah, Naomi, Jerry and Joshua Gaetano; great-grandchildren Isaiah Salsbury and Caden Garza. Also surviving are sisters and brothers-in-law Betty & Charles Allen of Taylorsville, Texas, Patsy & Jim Gillis of Lockhart, Texas and sister Opal Adams of Georgetown, Texas; brother-in-law Stacy Huggins and his wife Anne of League City, Texas. Other relatives include nieces and nephews, Terry & Suzy Evans, Penny Smith, Vincent & Matthew Allen, Stephen & Loy Gillis, Candyce Hackey, Vernon Lackey, Eric & Samuel Huggins and LeAnn Doran. Preceding her in death are her parents, sisters and brothers-in-law Lucille and Valon Lackey and Hazel and Ben Evans; nieces and nephews Donald and Daphne Lackey, Phil Allen and Andy Gillis. Serving as pallbearers are Seth Salsbury, Micah Salsbury, Bob Beaty, Jim Carmichael, Vic Ignasiak, and Roy Way.
