Funeral services for Penelope Ganske, 69, wife of Donald Gene Ganske, of Porter, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pastor Virgil Pecht will officiate. Interment will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Mrs. Ganske passed away March 23, 2013 in Porter. Penelope Ganske was born July 29, 1943 in St. Louis, MO. to Ervin Winford and Corine Ella Campbell Romine. She grew up in Steelville, MO., and attended area schools, and married Donald Gene Ganske on July 28, 1983. Penelope took loving care of her family as a mother and homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Donald Ganske of Porter; son, Raymond Reid; daughters and sons-in-law Stacy and Marvin Owens, Tammy and Craig Brandon, and Emma Henry and Jose Fonseca; sisters Corine Novelle Courtney and Judith Carol Kempf, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Mike Stegent, as well as seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous cousins and other relatives. Preceding her in death were her parents and four brothers: Gerald Romine, Homer Romine, Ervin Romine and Robert Romine. Penelope''s grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Funeral arrangements for Penelope Diana Ganske are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
