Peter Demuth, Jr.

Peter Demuth, Jr.,72, husband of Bonnie Demuth, passed away August 8, 2016 at his residence in Brenham.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church, with Pastors Mark Groves and Walt Schindehette officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Peter Demuth was born July 12, 1944 in Brenham to Peter Sr. and Lydia Luedemann Demuth. He was baptized in Greenvine Baptist Church, and confirmed May 3, 1969 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Bellville.

Peter attended Brenham Schools, and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, with the 101st Airborne Division. He married Bonnie Rosenbaum on October 7, 1967 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Bellville.

Employed for 20 years at LaRoche Chevrolet, Pete later worked for Lischka Construction for ten years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising racing pigeons, as well as spending time out in "the country."

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Demuth of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Crystal Demuth of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law Kristie and Jeremy Chasteen of Elgin, and Jessica and Eric
Kiihne of Hockley; grandchildren: Sidney, Sam, Spencer and Sutton Chasteen; Tanner, Corbin and Braden Demuth, and Isaac Kiihne; brothers and sisters-in-law Harvey and Sue Luedemann of Brenham; Larry and Mary Demuth of Ledbetter; sisters Gertrude Ramer of Arkansas, Gloria Rippenhagen and husband Robert of Brenham, and a sister-in-law, Becky Demuth of Brenham. Also surviving are brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Willie and Wallene Ludwig of Brenham, and Larry and Martha Lischka of Bellville.

Other surviving relatives are nieces and nephews: Jeff and Cindy Stueber, Jim and Melissa McCune, Troy and Kerry Lischka, Jason and Erin Lischka, Mark and Katie Lischka, Grant and Lanthia Lischka, Ronnie and Sandy Rippenhagen, Jimmy and Sarah Mobley, Annetta Mobley Phillips, Lydia Becker, Harvey Luedemann, Jr. Denay Mason, Stephanie Demuth, Lisa Demuth, Paula Demuth Sherrouse, Becky Ramer, Mark and Emma Ramer, and Deborah and Kenneth Post., and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving are special friends Charles and Janell Dierking, and his caretakers: Linda, Lonnie, Dietrich and Felicia.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law Bernice and Ervin Rosenbaum; brother David Demuth; brother-in-law Sam Ramer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Montie and Mary Cole, and nephew, Kevin Demuth.

Serving as pallbearers are Troy Lischka, Jason Lischka, Mark Lischka, Grant Lischka, Jim McCune, Willie Kmiec, and Andy Dallmeyer. Honorary pallbearers are Popo's grandchildren, and past and present employees of LaRoche Chevrolet.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley, or Christ Lutheran Day School.
