Phillip Loesch

July 20, 1980 — February 9, 2015

Phillip Allen Loesch, 34, husband of Betty Jean Schaefer Loesch, passed away February 9, 2015 in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Phillip was born July 20, 1980 in Brenham to Elroy Paul and Carolyn Marie Reddehase Loesch. He was baptized August 31, 1980 by Rev. Rovert Sauer at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, and confirmed there May 22, 1994 by Rev. Jim Bezaire. He continued membership at St. James until his death. On April 11, 2014 he was married to Betty Brending in Brenham, and they made their home in Brenham. An avid outdoorsman, Phillip enjoyed baling hay, especially with his brother, Stephen. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and rode occasionally with the Christian Motorcycle Association. A talented tractor mechanic, he lovingly restored antique John Deere and Farmall tractors for display at various functions. His special canine companion, Sandy, rode with Phillip on the back of his truck, always eager to accompany him on any outing. Phillip enjoyed the good food at Kenney Store, as well as the companionship of his many friends. A dedicated and loyal full-time employee of Blue Bell Creameries since graduating from Brenham High School in 1999, Phillip was proud of a perfect attendance record that included six years of perfect attendance. Missing a day of work was not a part of his plan. As a high school student, he was employed part-time at Blue Bell, a testament to his work ethic and determination. Survivors include his wife, Betty Schaefer Loesch; parents, Elroy Paul and Carolyn Reddehase Loesch, all of Brenham; brother and sister-in-law Stephen Paul and Wendy Loesch of Kenney; sisters and brothers-in-law Connie Lynn and Troy Oevermann, and Debra Lynn and Ronnie Nienstedt, all of Brenham; sons Jason Allen Brending and Justin Dale Brending; granddaughter Bailey Rebecca Ann Brending; nieces and nephews: Andrew Wagner, Brianna Oevermann, and Kaitlyn and Tyler Nienstedt. He is also survived by parents-in-law Marilyn Jane and Adolph William Schaefer, also of Brenham. Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents: Melvin and Wilma Reddehase, Paul and Adeline Loesch, and Cecilia and Henry Hendrickson. Serving as pallbearers are Jason Brending, Justin Brending, Zach Holder, Donald Hoskins, James Luedke, Ricky Meinholdt, Andrew Wagner, and Zach Wagner. All employees of Blue Bell Snack Plant will be honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
