Quincy Linnstaedter Jr.

Quincy H. Linnstaedter, Jr., 86, passed peacefully on March 16, 2016 at Brenham Nursing and Rehab Center.

Quincy Linnstaedter was born March 2, 1930 in Latium to Quincy C. Sr. and Ida Mae Vogelsang Linnstaedter. After completing his education, Quincy served with the Water Patrol Division of the Harris Co. Sheriff''s Dept. After many years in sales, he retired from Rainbo Bread Co. He served the Washington Co. Sheriff''s Dept. as a deputy, and later as a jailer. After retirement, he was a ranch manager in Washington Co. for a number of years.

On October 29, 1950, he married Bessie Lee Peters, and later married Thelma Jones on Feb. 14, 1959.

Quincy loved roping and riding on trail rides. He was a member of the Salt Grass Trail, as well as member and past president of the Texana Trail Riders. He was one of the co-founders of the Washington County Trail Ride Association. Quincy co-founded and served as advisor for the Washington Co. Youth Rodeo Association, and also helped start the Washington Co. Relay team which represented Washington County and raced in the Astrodome.

Quincy was honorably discharged from the U. S. Army after serving his country for several years.

Quincy loved spending time outdoors with friends and family. He seldom met a stranger and would always have a story to tell. He will be missed by all but forgotten by none.

Funeral services for Quincy H. Linnstaedter are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2016 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Rev. Jack Meeker officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Danna Anders and Jimmy Anders; sons and daughters-in-law Richard and Pat Linnstaedter, and Ronald and Charlotte Linnstaedter; step-daughter Wanda Janes and husband Jimmie; grandchildren: Dalton Anders, Colten Anders, Crystal Linnstaedter, Christopher Linnstaedter; step-grandchildren: Rhonda Janes, Terrie McBride, and Jimmie Dale Janes; one great grandson and three step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma; a brother and sister-in-law, A. G. and Doris Linnstaedter.

Serving as pallbearers are Dalton Anders, Colten Anders, Christopher Linnstaedter, Marshall Land, Albert Garcia, and Roy Olds.

Memorials may be directed to the Cowboy Church of Brenham.
