Ralph Elder Keller, 86, of Brenham died Nov. 21, 2005, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mr. Keller was born June 9, 1919, in Springfield, Massachussetts, to Edward James and Fern Lester Keller. He grew up in Groton, New York and earned a business degree from the University of Syracuse. Mr. Keller served in the U.S. Army during World War II, Korea and several other posts and retired in 1970 with the rank of captain at Fort Hood, Texas. In 1944, he was married to Ruth Swanson. Mr. Keller was a long-time resident of Copperas Cove 1968-2000 and then moved to Brenham. After the death of his wife, he moved to Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village in Brenham. Mr. Keller worked with the Exchange Club of Copperas Cove and was the recipient of the 1998 Golden Deeds Award. He was also active in Boy Scouts and served as an elder in the Presbyterian Church of Copperas Cove. He enjoyed volunteering in his community, church and family, including Trinity Medical Center Auxiliary and Kruse Village Auxiliary. Survivors include his three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Lynne Keller of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Don and Charlene Keller of Brenham and Wayne and Sharleen Keller of The Woodlands; daughter-in-law, Margaret Keller of St. Louis, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Christopher, Jeffrey, Kevin, Stacey, Stephanie and Natalie; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Keller, in 2000. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26 in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village Chapel, 1700 E. Stone St., Brenham, with Pastor Teresa Davis officiating. Memorials may be given to Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village.
