Ramah Winter

Ramah Lee Johns Winter, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, friend passed away on Friday Feb 2, 2018, at the age of 81.

Ramah was born on April 8, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she spent her childhood.

Ramah married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Marion Allen Winter Jr., on August 24, 1956. Together they graduated from the University of Arkansas.

Ramah was the proud mother of four boys that she adored, Craig, Scott, Andy and Tim.

She enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, traveling and fishing excursions with her family at their vacation home in Rockport, Texas.

Ramah and Allen moved to Brenham, Texas in 1986, where they began their retirement years with cherished family and friends.

Ramah had many wonderful friends with whom she enjoyed shopping trips and lunches. Her tennis group get togethers were always a highlight.

She especially enjoyed holiday festivities with her family at their ranch in Brenham.

Ramah’s greatest treasure was her husband and partner, Allen, of 61 years. Ramah and Allen were inseparable in their love and support for each other.

Ramah is preceded in death by her husband Allen, her parents and sister, Mary Lou, and her son Tim.

Ramah is survived by her sons Craig, Scott and wife, Cari, Andy and wife, Corina and daughter in law Mary Beth; Grandchildren, Jim Norris and wife Charlotte, Katie and husband Charlie Conway, Zachary White and wife Kristin , Brandon White, Madeline Winter,Allen Winter, Emily Winter, Timothy Winter, Talia and Adam, Great Granddaughters; Lucy and Lily Norris. As well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family truly appreciates and would like to thank Leo Maya and Ruby Dorantes for their dedicated service to The Winter Family, and Lydia Engelke, Shannon Gutierrez and Anna Farrer Trevino for their loving care of Ramah.

Services will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel, Brenham Texas on Friday, February 9 at 11:00AM, Reception Immediately Following, also at Memorial Oaks. Graveside service will be held at 2:00PM in Independence, Texas following the service.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to; Brenham Animal Shelter or Hospice Brazos Valley.
