Randle Belyeu

March 9, 1942 — November 6, 2005

Randle Belyeu , 63, passed away November 6, 2005, at his residence in Brenham, Texas after a lengthy illness. His courageous battle against cancer extended for eight years. Randle s positive attitude attested to his fervent desire to go down fighting. Mr. Belyeu was born March 9, 1942 in Dexter, New Mexico, the son of Floyd and Wanna Lee elyeu. He graduated from Dexter High School, where he excelled in basketball. He furthered his education by attending Eastern New Mexico University. He served in the Army Reserves and was proud of his service commitment. On January 12, 1963, he married Carolyn Gooch in Artesia, New Mexico. He was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Mohave Valley, Arizona, and continued his religious faith as a Baptist. During his extended Business career he served as school board president and was also a 4-H leader in Mohave Valley. He served his communities spiritually and civically. Mr. Belyeu served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Monahans, Texas where he also taught Sunday school. He served as a director of young married couples at First Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas. He was director of operations for Enron Corp when he retired in 2001 after forty years of service. He enjoyed golf, bird hunting and fishing. Even during his illness he still enjoyed belonging to a local morning coffee group. Perhaps his greatest joy was achieved while playing with his five grandchildren. Randle was a true gentleman who left a positive impact on those who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, of Brenham, two daughters, Christi Belyeu Bond and husband Ragan, and Shelly Belyeu Rogers and husband Gary, of Washington, Texas. His parents, Floyd and Wanna Lee Belyeu of Roswell, New Mexico; five grandchildren, Alex Bond, Madalyn Bond, Cody Rogers, Randal Caraline Bond, and John Austin Rogers; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Fran Belyeu of Roswell; two sisters and brothers in-law, Shirley and Dan Rathbun of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Linda and Kenneth Conklin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one sister-in-law Glenda MacGregor, of Midland, Texas; and four nieces and four nephews. His family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Brenham and to his many friends for their love and support. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street in Brenham. Services will be held at 2:00 Thursday in Memorial Oaks Chapel with Villard Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Atkinson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 9, at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
