Raymond Blum, 92, of Brenham, died April 26, 2019, in Brenham, Texas.
Mr. Blum was born October 31, 1926, in the Zionsville Community in Brenham, Texas, to Emma and Fritz Blum. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. He attended Hoddeville School. On December 19, 1948, he was married to Annadell Hodde at St. John United Church of Christ in Burton by Pastor C.H. Schwengel.
Mr. Blum was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville where he sang in the choir, served on the church council and building committee. Until the day he died, his passion was lawn care at the church. His entire career was in the construction business.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Janie Blum and Darrell and Linda Blum, all of Brenham; daughter, Annette Luedke and Marvin Green of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Catherine and Matt Kenjura, and their children, Charlie, John, and Caroline; Matthew Luedke and Lisa Ybaben; Emily and Warren Lee, and their children, Margaret, Henry, and Elizabeth; Alyssa and Paul Martinez, and their son, Nico; and Sarah and Matthew Dildy, and their daughter, Emily; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Bernadine Blum; brother-in-law, Fred Pelkemeyer; sisters-in-law, Veradell Lehde and Dorothy Eberhardt; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents; son-in-law, Billy Luedke; sister, Mildred Pelkemeyer; and numerous relatives.
Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, April 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor Katrina Walther officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Luedke, Matt Kenjura, Warren Lee, Paul Martinez, Matt Dildy, Craig Blum, and Paul F. LaRoche, III.
Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
