Raymond Quade

Raymond Dean Quade, 83, of Brenham, husband of Adeline Adell Gruetzner Quade, died May 12, 2009, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas. Mr. Quade was born in Wells, Minnesota, on September 7, 1925, to Gustav Fredrick and Frances Hubbard Quade. He was baptized and later confirmed in St. John Lutheran Church in Wells, Minnesota. On June 2, 1973, he married Adeline Gruetzer in Zion Lutheran Church of Pasadena, Texas. He was employed as a salesman in the grocery industry. Survivors include his wife, Adeline Quade; sons and daughters-in-law Gary and Elizabeth Quade , and Karl Wayne and Kellie Quade, all of Deer Park; grandchildren: Candice Quade, Lacey Quade, Tyler Quade, and Amanda Goss; brothers and sisters-in-law Richard and Gladys Quade of Pasadena, Maryland; Gus Quade, Jr. of Pasadena, and William Quade of Sundance, Wyoming; sisters and brothers-in-law Deanice and Ted Baum of Loveland, Colorado; Joyce and Fred Sorg of Sauk City, Wisconsin, and Mitzi McGlone of Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Quade was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham, where he served on the church council, and the Young at Heart Club at Grace Lutheran. For many years, he was very active in the Little League and Boy Scouts. Mr. Quade also worked as a Washington County election judge for a number of years. Interment will take place Friday, May 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Gruetzner family plot in the Giddings Cemetery., Giddings, Texas. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer will officiate. Memorials may be directed to the Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
