Rebecca Moehlmann

July 31, 1956 — January 19, 2008

Rebecca Becky Lynn Moehlmann, 51, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family. Becky was born July 31, 1956 to Clarence and Shirley A. Moehlmann in Houston. She was baptized Oct. 17, 1956 in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Houston and confirmed June 7, 1970 in the same church. She graduated from Brenham High School in 1974 and from the Blinn College LVN program in 1980. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill and worked as an intake coordinator at Texas Home Health. She loved playing games, gardening, reading and needlecrafts – but most of all she loved her niece and nephews. She was forever buying games and was the biggest “kid” of all. She was never too busy to play with them and they all dearly loved their “Aunt Becky.” Becky took special pride in being a nurse, as well as serving as the voice of Texas Home Health on the local radio station. Survivors include her parents, Clarence and Shirley A. Moehlmann of Brenham; life-partner, Jennifer Welsh of Brenham; brother, Dennis Moehlmann of Brenham; nephews, Josh Goldsmith of Austin, Craig Moehlmann of Granite Shoals and Riley Moehlmann of Brenham; niece, Kory Moehlmann of Brenham; aunts, Emma Jean Roese and Sandra Riley, both of Brenham; many other numerous aunt, uncles, cousins and friends; and her “girls,” dog, Pebbles and cat, Grizzabella. Becky was preceded in death by her grandparents August and Emma Moehlmann, of Brenham; and Charlie Mack and Ruby Riley, of Navasota and Brenham. Pallbearers are Josh Goldsmith, Craig Moehlmann, Robert Fairlie, Bob Gajeske, Jeffrey Riley, Ande Bostain, Don Andrew and Alan Hutson. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon and June Welsh, Kory Moehlmann, Riley Moehlmann and all the employees of Texas Home Health, Brenham office. Visitation with the family will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral services for Becky will be Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Interment will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church cemetery. Becky’s family would like to thank Texas Home Health Hospice for being there when we needed them. We are so grateful to you for making her last days comfortable. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society-Susan G. Komen Foundation. Arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham, 979-836-4564 .
