Richard Edward Chapman, 72, of Brenham, husband of Nancy Elizabeth Chapman, passed away May 11, 2008 in Brenham. Mr. Chapman was born May 2, 1936 in Hempstead, Texas to Andrew Jackson and Thelma Johnson Chapman. He was a graduate of Bellville High School, Blinn College, and obtained a B.S. in Pharmacy from the University of Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy, and was a retired pharmacist with the former Eckerd Drug Co. Mr. Chapman was a member of First Baptist Church of Brenham, as well as Gideons International. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Chapman of Brenham; a son Chad Chapman and wife Mary Ann of Austin; daughter Ginger Schultz and husband Joe of Brenham; four grandchildren Jennifer Chapman, Ginger Randermann, Brandon Schultz and Mason Schultz; brothers John Paul Chapman of Houston, and William "Bill" Chapman of Temple; a nephew, John Paul Chapman, Jr. and a niece, Paige Chapman Krekeler. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jack W. Chapman. Memorial services for Richard Edward Chapman will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Brenham with Rev. Steve Ponder officiating.
