Rita Diamond

Rita Mae Becker Diamond, 64, of Somerville, passed away on February 9, 2018 at Vitas Healthcare, Shenandoah, Texas.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Matthew Jacobs officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Snook Cemetery. Visitation with friends and relatives was held at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday February 12.

Rita was born March 5, 1953 to Edmund Walter and Helen Veronica (Bodling) Becker. She was baptized March 22, 1953 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lockett, Texas, and was confirmed on March 19, 1967 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Giddings, Texas. Rita was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, and a member of The Brenham Quilt Guild. She loved quilting, sewing and gardening. She especially enjoyed sister trips, crawfish and being with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons: Christopher Allen Beisert, and Jonathan Ray Beisert and his wife Alyson Maureen Beisert, and the father of the two sons, Henry Beisert; brother and sister-in-law, Edmund Becker Jr. and Jodie Harris Becker; sisters and brothers-in-law Shirley Meadows and Johnny Meadows, Kathy Phillips and Homer Phillips, and Bonnie Campbell and Robert Campbell; grandchildren: Taylor Elaine Clonts, Katelyn Veronica Beisert, and Hunter James Beisert; great-granddaughter Maelynn Addison Clonts, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Becker York, Edmund Becker and Herman Dorsey York.

Serving as pallbearers are Cory Phillips, Kyle Clonts, Thomas Ruthven, Jess Miller, Russell Ruthven and Dylan Campbell. Honorary pallbearer is Hunter Beisert.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
