Robert Louis Bob Horlander, 84, of Brenham, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mr. Horlander was born Aug. 26, 1919, in Rome, Kentucky, to Fred and Sue Clark Horlander. He served 24 years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. Mr. Horlander was a steel importer with extensive ties to the Japanese oil field pipe industry. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Kathy Horlander of Houston; granddaughter, Melissa Horlander of Houston; and his loved friend, Joan Poerschke. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Moore Horlander, on March 12, 1996. The funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13 in St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham with Rev. David Ivey, celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Brenham. The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 12 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Memorials may be given to Hospice Brazos Valley, 705 S. Austin, Brenham, TX, Bread Partners, 1008 Higgins St., Brenham, TX, or Animals TLC, P.O. Box 1654, Brenham, TX 77834. His family wishes to extend deeply felt gratitude to his many dear friends that he loved and that loved him so much. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
