Robert Wayne Kohring, 62, of Brenham, died January 6, 2006, at his residence. It was his wish to be at home and pain free. His wish was granted, and he went peacefully to be with his Lord with his family by his side. Mr. Kohring was born July 11, 1943, in Brenham, Texas, to Robert H. and Anita Schroeder Kohring. He was baptized Aug. 15, 1943, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn by Pastor C.J. Appel and was confirmed April 14, 1957, in the same church by Pastor Harry G. Scholz. Mr. Kohring attended William Penn School and Brenham High School. On Aug. 22, 1964, he was married to Barbara Jean Wellmann in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville. Mr. Kohring was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville, where he served on the council many years. He was a carpenter. Mr. Kohring loved to fish and hunt. He always looked forward to watching his son and grandsons play baseball. He will be greatly missed by many, but mainly PoPo will be missed by his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Kohring of Brenham; two sons, Randall Kohring and wife Michelle of Carmine and Bradley Kohring of Brenham and special friend Katie Bush; three daughters, Cheryl Joswiak, Lori Reichwein and husband Robert and Teresa Voskamp and husband Casey, all of Brenham; eight grandchildren, Kaley and Stephen Joswiak, Dustin and Taylor Reichwein, Preston, Jake and Molly Voskamp and Aaron Kohring; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry Lee and Doris Kohring of Brenham, Valgene and Diana Kohring of Washington, Danny Kohring and fiancé Shirley Nickels of Navasota and Pat Kohring of Brenham; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Vernon Klussmann of Brenham, Sandra and Bobby Searle of Washington, Kathryn and Joe Martinez of Brenham, Diane and Chuck Boggan of Brenham and Rebecca and Ray Wellmann of Brenham; mother-in-law, Lenora Wellmann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald and Diana Wellmann, Glenn Wellmann, Harvey Wellmann and Anthony Wellmann; aunts and uncles, Walter and Elsie Merten, Rosalee Lueckemeyer, Oleta Merten, Ida May Schroeder and Amelia Schroeder; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobbie Kohring; sister, Ruth; sister-in-law, Connie Kohring; son-in-law, William Joswiak; and father-in-law, Harry Wellmann. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Kohring, Michael Kohring, Timothy Klussmann, Lance Searle, Rallin Wellmann, Craig Boggan, Jody Martinez and Landon Kohring. Honorary pallbearers will be his God children, Cory Klussmann, Ethan Boggan and Deborah Hodde; Walter and Arlen Thielemann and all employees of Thielemann Construction; Harry and Willie Wernecke; Gloria Joswiak; Edwin Buck and Annie Mae Studhalter; and Johnnie Lee and Elois Eickenhorst.
