Robert "Bob" Lukeman

The family of the late Robert "Bob" Lukeman of Frisco, Brenham, Galveston TX and Rockville, CT announced his recent passing on Tuesday January 30, 2024, in Plano Texas. Born March 5, 1936, in Rockville, CT to Frances Joseph and Elsie Schortmann Lukeman.

His early career began in grocery store management in New York/Connecticut until joining the U.S Army serving in the division of Military Police at Ft Hood, Texas where he met his first wife, Jeanette Rose of Waller, Texas while she attended Mary Baylor Hardin College. Later they made their home in Brenham where he worked in partnership with the late Truett & Vera Rose at the successful L & R Grocery and she joined the faculty of Blinn College. Their two children, DeLacye (Dee) and James (Jim) were raised in Brenham and were actively involved in the community and at First Baptist Church, Brenham. During the late 70's Bob and Truett closed L & R Market and Bob began working at Brenham National Bank. Bob completed numerous professional bank training certificates at Texas Tech University, and he also obtained a Texas Real Estate License enjoying 40 years in a successful real estate career throughout Texas. In 1983, he met and later married his second wife, Lennie Brown, former Brenham Main Street Revitalization Director and moved to Galveston and Cypress, Texas while working independently in the field of recovery assets and real estate. His third child, Dancy was born in Galveston in 1993. In 1998 he returned to Brenham, continuing real estate and his assets recovery company until 2016. He then moved to North Texas in 2016 joining his daughter Dee and husband, Kenny Yates, who cared for him following his heart surgery until his recent passing.

Known to many as "Mr. Bob," Bob was described by those who knew him best as friendly and fun, honest, hard-working, patriotic, loving family man and community-oriented man, a bluegrass musician, avid hunter and gun collector, local historian, and maintained a close relationship with God. He was active in Church leadership, Lions Club, Boys and Girl Scouts, Ducks Unlimited, Washington County Chamber of Commerce Blue Blazers, served on City of Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission, Washington County Fair Board, and active in Washington County and Galveston Board of Realtors.

Born the youngest of four children, Bob maintained close ties to his family in CT even while residing in TX. His oldest sister Elsie Lukeman Heth and her husband Albert, sister Dottie (Dorothy) Lukeman Pasay and her husband Stan, as well as his brother Joseph Lukeman and his wife Barbara, and nephews Jody Lukeman, Gary Pasay, Stanley Pasay all of Connecticut along with nieces Tammy Clark and Ellen Pasay have all preceded Bob in death.

Bob leaves behind Jeanette Rose Lukeman of College Station, TX and Lennie Brown of Arlington, TX, his children: DeLacye (Dee) Lukeman Yates and her husband, Kenny of Frisco, TX, James (Jim) Lukeman and his wife, Robbie of College Station, TX and Dancy Lukeman Clark and her husband Justin of Arlington, TX.

Niece Leslie Clark and her daughter Olivia Neal and Leslie's grandchildren Caleb and Trevor Remillaird, nephew Shawn Lukeman, children of Stan Clark Jr (deceased) - Great-nephews: Julius, Marcus, and Eric. Eric's son Levi is Bob's great-great-nephew, and all reside in Connecticut.

Bob was blessed with an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren as his children's families grew. Kenny & Dee's Children: Heather Williamson and her husband, Steven and their children Kayley, Kaidence and Kaitlyn (Franklin, TN), Kari Adams ( San Antonio, TX), Cody Stone (PA), Matthew Charles Murphy, II and his wife Alexis and their daughters: Lilly, Ellie, Emmy (George West, TX Meagan Murphy Gratz (College Station) and her sons, William, Brennan, and Walker, Ashleigh Morton (Austin, TX) Kaegan Yates (San Antonio) and Jordyn Yates (Columbia, MO) and her son Caelum, Jim and Robbie's Children: Amanda Lukeman Crenshaw and her husband Clifford (College Station, TX) and their children Chelsey, Sam, Colton, Shelby, Jamie Lukeman Pisk and her husband Aaron (Katy, TX) and their children Abigail and Cameron, and Dancy and Justin's children (Arlington, TX): Porter and Oakley Clark.

Funeral arrangements have been set for 10:00 AM Monday, February 5, 2024, at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

A visitation will be held Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 5:00 - 7:00 PM. All are encouraged to attend.

The Military Funeral Honors Burial at the Houston National Cemetery will follow later the same day for family members.

Memorials are appreciated and can be made to the charity of one's choosing.
