Rodney Lynn Faist, 51, of Burton, died March 21, 2013 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton, with Pastor Denise Seymour officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at Foehner Funeral Home. Rodney was born December 20, 1961 in Houston to Bennie E. Jr. and June Marie Stiewert Faist. He was baptized May 25, 1962 and confirmed April 11, 1976. After completing high school, he was employed as a truck driver. A dedicated member of the Burton Fire Dept., he was known to never have missed a fire call in all the years of service, until he became ill. With a big heart, he selflessly helped anyone in any way that he could. Survivors include his father, Bennie E. Faist, Jr.; sister, Rhonda Maass and fiancée David Lichti, all of Burton; nieces Stephanie Maass Schulze and husband Cody of Burton, and Melissa Maass Bilski and husband Justin of Brenham, and a nephew, Colton Maass of Burton; great-niece, Hadley Marie Schulze and a great nephew, Layne Ryan Bilski, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Last but not least, he is also survived by his beloved dog, Shirley. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Faist; grandparents Bennie and Frieda Faist and Hubert and Ida Stiewert.
