Roger Mohr, 76, of Washington, was called home to be with our Lord on March 19, 2013. Roger Mohr was born June 29, 1936 to Walter A. and Hilda Krueger Mohr at home in Washington. He was baptized and confirmed at Friedens United Church of Christ in Washington. He graduated from Brenham High School and then served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force as a radio code breaker. Roger was one of seven children. He married Laverne Meyer, the mother of his children: Cynthia Ann James and Roger Alan Mohr. He later married Anna Burton Elley in 1975 at Friedens United Church of Christ in Washington and welcomed her four children as his own. These children became brothers and sisters never referred to as step-children as his own. He loved all of the children and they loved him. Roger was rancher, farmer, tractor mechanic and retired in 2003 from Ewald Tractor in Seguin. Roger and Anna then moved to Washington on part of the Mohr family farm where Roger grew up. He maintained constant communication with his sisters and brothers who lived nearby. Roger was a wonderful husband and father. His 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren loved him dearly. As an avid gardener he started a pecan and fruit orchard. Roger was very active in church and he was on the church council. Roger really enjoyed and looked forward to playing cards and dominoes with his family, friends and fellow church members. One of his favorite activities was playing chicken foot domino at the church with his fellow church members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law Walter Jack and Pat Mohr; brothers-in-law, Barry Rust and Sam Lanham; niece Peggy Sue Suzie Mohr and his wife Anna Mohr.
