Roland Ross

Roland R. "Bunk" Ross, 82, husband of LaVerne L. Heins Ross, passed away December 6, 2010 in Kruse Memorial Village. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg, with Pastor Robert Sorensen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Roland Ross was born October 26, 1928 in Houston to Roland Rivers and Trissie Ross. He was baptized in the Church of Christ and confirmed in Houston. A graduate of Reagan High School, he later married LaVerne Heins on October 9, 1947 in Houston. He was a machine shop operator, and was also a rancher. A member of St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg, he served on the church council as treasurer. Survivors include his wife, LaVerne L. Ross of Brenham; a grandson Kelly Ross of California; great-grandchildren: Ashley, Jacob and Andrew Ross; a niece Rhonda Bisby; nephew Tom Branch, and a sister, Ima Lee Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Rick Ross, and daughter, Rosalind Ross. Serving as pallbearers are Joe Guido, Tom Branch, Chance Brown, Phil Duncan, Don Hoffmann, and Lonnie Tegeler.
