Ronald Doyle Knipstein, Sr., 49, husband of Ranell Puckett Knipstein, passed away September 7, 2008 near Caldwell, Texas. Ronald was born April 10, 1959 to Willie Jr. and Delores Lorenz Knipstein in Houston, Texas. He was baptized at St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Houston. He was a graduate of Aldine High School. On May 3, 1980 he married his high school sweetheart, Ranell Puckett in Houston. He worked with his brother for a number of years and was currently employed as a field service mechanic for Mechanical Field Service Co. Ronald is survived by his wife, Ranell; sons Ronald Knipstein, Jr. and fiance Michelle Brown; Ryan Knipstein and friend Colbie Strother, all of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law Rachael and Jeffory Goeke of Brenham; grandchildren Ethen Andrew Knipstein and Kasyn Dale Goeke; mother, Delores Knipstein of Houston; brother and sister-in-law Darrell and Jerri Knipstein of Cypress; mother-in-law and father-in-law Ronald and Ruby Puckett of Hempstead; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ronnie and Suzanne Puckett of Hempstead, and Eric and Rhonda Kennedy of Sweeny, Chuck and Rochelle Bundren of Cypress, and his longtime best friend, Ricky Adler of Brenham. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Knipstein, Jr. Ronald was a member of St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, the Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Gay Hill Shooting Club. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to ride his Harley and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to barbecue, play dominoes and drink beer with his many friends. Funeral services for Ronald Doyle Knipstein Sr. will be held Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Ricky Adler, Eric Kennedy, Ronnie "Bub" Puckett, Gary Koerth, James Schulz, Robby Mantey, Hal Johnson and Bobby Thornton, Jr. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. Funeral services are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
