Ronald Kocian

Ronald Dean Kocian, 44, of Brenham, died in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident Wednesday morning, May 25, 2005. Mr. Kocian was born Oct. 6, 1960, in Houston, Texas, to Hugo Hubert and Viola Dobecka Kocian. He was a 1979 graduate of Pinetree High School in Longview. He earned a bachelor s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas and a doctor of jurisprudence from St. Mary s University in San Antonio. On July 6, 1991, he was married to Shirene Janson in Houston. After college, he was employed as an attorney for the Department of Defense. From 1988 to 2001, he was employed as general counsel for PI Components Corporation in Brenham. Most recently, he had a private law practice and was recently engaged as general counsel for Tarlton Supply Company in Brenham. Survivors include his wife, Shirene Kocian of Brenham; sons, Christian Kocian 7, Becket Kocian 5 and Aiden Kocian 2, all of Brenham; mother, Viola Kocian of Longview; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Enid Kocian of Brenham; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose M. and Donald M. Franzen of Austin and Donna K. and Michael H. Rosenblatt of Montclair, Virginia; mother-in-law, Parvin Janson of Houston; father-in-law, Richard Janson of Venezuela; nieces and nephews, Candice J. Kocian, Dale C. Kocian, Brooke L. Kocian, Dawn M. and Dean Harvie, Rachel A. and John Hill, Sara R. Franzen, Emily Rosenblatt, Juliana Rosenblatt, Chloe Rosenblatt and Whitney Rosenblatt; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Kathleen Ann Kocian. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 27 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28 in St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Kim Little-Brooks and Pastor Lawrence Bade officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill, Texas. Pallbearers will be Randy Patterson, Gary Buchanan, Derek Carillo, David Torok, Don Franzen and Michael Rosenblatt. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
