They made their home in Houston, TX until 1986 when they returned to Brenham to build Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center where he served as President and Co-Owner until 2013 when he retired.

Ron found great purpose and joy through tending to his cattle, shredding a back pasture in his tractor, tinkering in the barn, and spending mornings enjoying breakfast among friends. He was an active member of his church, St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Sandy Hill, where he attended as a young boy and eventually returned in his adult years. Ron loved the Lord and served Him daily.
