Ronnie Roemer, 56, of Brenham, died Nov. 21, 2003, at his residence. Mr. Roemer was born April 13, 1947, in Brenham, TX, to August and Ruby Loewe Roemer. He was educated in Burton public schools. He served in the U.S. Army from Aug. 4, 1966 to May 29, 1968, in Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart. On Feb. 6, 1971, he married Charlotte Peters in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. Mr. Roemer was employed for Sealy Mattress for 35 years. He was a member of St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton, where he served two terms on the church council. He was also a member of American Legion Post 48, DAV and VFW. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Roemer of Brenham; sons and daughter-in-law, Jason and Carrie Roemer of Fredericksburg and Joel Roemer of Brenham; brothers and sister-in-law, Billy Joe and Rosie Roemer and Dennis Roemer, all of Houston; father-in-law, Arnold Peters of Carmine; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arnold Jr. and Jeanette Peters of Brenham; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Lydia Peters; and an infant brother and sister. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23 in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in the Loewe Family Cemetery at Sandtown. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be his godchildren: Abby Faske, Rodney Loewe, Ryan Loewe, Walt Kieschnick, Wes Kieschnick, Anthony Jasinski and Matt Bentke. Memorials may be given to St. John s United Church of Christ Building Fund, the Loewe Family Cemetery Association Fund or Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
