Rosalie Weiss Grabarschick, affectionately known as "Miss Rosie", passed away Nov. 1, 2011 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan at the age of 84. She was the widow of Otto Grabarschick, who preceded her in death June 13, 1992. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 in St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Phillip Fenton officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Rosie was born October 4, 1927 in Brenham to Louis F. and Rosalee Rodenbeck Weiss, and was educated in Brenham area schools. For over 50 years, she operated "Otto''s" She was a lifelong member of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. As a child, she enjoyed spending time in the kitchen with her mother, and later with her daughter and grandchildren, canning vegetables from the garden. Rosie enjoyed traveling with the family, as well as watching and listening to Brenham Cub and Blinn sports games. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Watching them play baseball and perform in the band were favorite pastimes. She treasured the time spent happily playing with all of them. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Rick Hutchens of Brenham; grandchildren: Jason Grabarschick and Bonnie Campbell of Brenham, Misti Hartstack Corn and husband Josh of Washington, Leland Hartstack and wife Trisha of Evansville, Indiana, Beau Grabarschick of Brenham, and Hailey Grabarschick of Sealy; great-grandchildren: William and Jackson Corn, Hudson and Hayden Hartstack, and Autrie Grabarschick. She is also survived by June Hutchens, her daughter''s mother-in-law, as well as numerous other relatives. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Otto, and son, Roger Dale Grabarschick, as well as a sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Ernest Vierus. Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Kettler, Calvin Rodenbeck, Clyde Vierus, James Vierus, Joe Antkowiak, and Shawn Loesch. Honorary pallbearer will be Ray Saeger. Memorials may be directed to the Radio Ministry of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements for Rosie Grabarshick are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
