Roxie Schulze

Mrs. Roxie Hauck Schulze, 93, of Brenham, widow of Henry W. Schulze, passed away Friday, April 21, 2006 at Bluebonnet Hills Care Center in Brenham, Texas. Mrs. Schulze was born on February 18, 1913 on a farm near Brenham, Texas, the daughter of Charlie and Emma Schilling Hauck. Roxie grew up on the farm where she was born and attended public school at Berlin, Texas. In her middle twenties, she moved to Brenham and worked for Duke & Ayres for several years. She was baptized in the home of her grandmother, and confirmed at St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she became a member soon after moving to Brenham. She later became active in the Ladies Aid and remained so until she was no longer able to go. Roxie was a member of the Sons of Herman Lodge #11, and a lifetime member of the Brenham American Legion Women s Auxiliary. She was married to Henry W. Schulze on July 1, 1945 at St. Paul s Lutheran Church. They were blessed with a son, Jerry William Schulze on April 2, 1946 for a short time. Jerry died May 17, 1946. Roxie s husband, Henry, died Dec. 20th, 1973. Survivors include a brother, Charlie Hauck, Jr. of Houston, and numerous nieces and nephews. Roxie was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charlie Sr. and Emma Hauck of Brenham, three sisters, Lenora Klaus and husband Lovis of Houston, Antonie Hermann and husband Fritz of Brenham, Elaine Willis and husband Elmo of Brenham; one brother, Herbert Hauck of Houston, and one sister-in-law, Patsy Hauck of Houston. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2006 at St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastors Lawrence Bade and Kim Little-Brooks officiating. Internment will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel Sunday, April 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Blackshear, Freddie Hermann, David Hermann, Richard Kasprowicz, Paul Kasprowicz, Douglas Schulze, Louis Klaus, Jr. and Danny Runge. Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Hauck and Jason Blackshear . The family would like to express their love and thanks to Erma Luetge for her loving care and friendship to Roxie throughout the years. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Brenham or St. Paul s Evangelican Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham.
