Roy Kipp, Sr.

Roy Howard Kipp, Sr, age 86, of Chappell Hill, Texas went to be with his Lord on January 15, 2015. Mr. Kipp was born at home in Giddings, Texas on April 18, 1928 to Herman Fred Kipp and Marie Ansohn Kipp. He graduated Giddings High School and joined what became the US Air Force in 1945. He helped set up communications for the Berlin Air Lift. In 1949, Mr. Kipp returned from the military to begin college at Blinn College in Brenham. He was elected President of the local Phi Beta Kappa organization. He went to college at the University of Texas in Austin in 1950, graduating with honors in 1952. Mr. Kipp worked for Amerada Hess for 25 years. In the early ''70''s he moved on to another oil and gas company, retiring from Tauber Oil in 1980. He owned and operated Kipp''s Antiques and Frame Shop in Chappell Hill until the ''90''s when he retired to his home to be a full time rancher. He married Joy Philips Kipp deceased. Mr. Kipp is survived by his four children and their spouses: daughter, Carolyn & Marston White, daughter, Marion Haverkorn, son, Roy Kipp, Jr, and son, Paul & Marsha Kipp. He has twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham, Texas on Sunday, January 18 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services are Monday, January 19, 2015 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham, Texas at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Old Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill, Texas.
