Roy C. McWilliams, 86, husband of Ruth E. Schroeder McWilliams, died February 3, 2014 at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville, with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will take place in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Visitation with the family will begin at noon Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, with a meal to be served at 12:30 for all who wish to attend. Roy was born July 26, 1927 in Austin to Roy and Lola Marshall McWilliams. He was baptized and confirmed on April 3, 1955 by Pastor Ed Long at St. Martin''s Lutheran Church in Austin. He served his county in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean War. On March 26, 1955, he was married to Ruth Schroeder by Pastor Ed Long. A 1960 graduate of the University of Texas where he attained a bachelor''s degree, he was employed by Johnson and Johnson until his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Ruth E. McWilliams of Brenham; an aunt, Naomi McWilliams of Austin; nieces and nephews Beverly and Larry Koehler, and Linda and Roy Boehnemann all of Brenham, as well as great-great nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law C.B. and Marjorie Schroeder, and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charlie and Henrietta Schroeder. Serving as pallbearers are Larry Koehler, Roy Boehnemann, Chris Koehler, Gil Janner, Wayne Hueske, and James Graeber. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, or to Lutheran Social Services-Kruse Village. Funeral arrangements for Roy C. McWilliams are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
